We are a welcoming community led wood workshop in Maryhill, Glasgow, a space for people to learn, share skills, and explore creative making through sustainable materials.
Working with donated and reclaimed timber, we support a wide range of practices, from spoon carving and furniture repair to more experimental and expressive work.

Regular Events
There is always something happening at Boomerang. Like our weekly Open Bench sessions; our open workshop event where you can come along and work on your own projects with the support of our knowledgable team. And our new beginners bench classes for people who are totally new to woodworking. Our events are a chance to learn new skills, meet others and get creative with wood. Everyone is welcome, come along and see what you can make!
Community Projects
We partner with local public & voluntary sector organisations to share woodworking skills and create custom builds, to enhance our shared spaces and support our community.

We make, repair and restore wooden items, using reclaimed timber where possible to suit the needs of your project.
Shop Boomerang
Shop Boomerang for gifts, handmade wooden items for your home, and things for your garden or outdoor space. Our range is made by our small team and volunteers, with most pieces made from reclaimed timber.

Minimalist Egg Cup
A simple, beautiful egg cup with Scandinavian style minimalism. Shaped from solid reclaimed oak, each piece has a smooth, egg-like form with a hollow centre to hold your egg.
Every egg cup shows off the natural grain and character of the reclaimed oak, making each one subtly unique. Handmade and hand-shaped by our team and volunteers, it's a small piece that brings a bit of craft to your breakfast table.

Materials: Reclaimed solid oak
Dimensions: 9cm x 7cm x 2.2cm
Finish: Finished with mineral oil.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking in water.
Please Note - Our egg cups are hand made using reclaimed wood so shapes, sizes and colouration may vary slightly.

Two Planters Connected by a Bench
A practical combination for your garden or outdoor space. This piece connects two planter boxes with a 1200mm bench in between - giving you seating and planting space all in one. Perfect for patios, balconies, or alongside pathways.
Made from treated pine to resist rot and weather, these are built by our team with occasional support from volunteers. Choose your planter size to suit your space, and you can customise further by adding a trellis if you're planning to grow climbing plants.

Handmade Wooden Picture Frame with Magnetic Closure
A clever way to display your prints. Each picture hanger is made from two pairs of reclaimed hardwood strips that sandwich your artwork and hold it in place with magnets - no glass, no fuss, just simple and elegant. Available in oak or walnut, these frames show off the natural grain and warm tones of the wood. The waxed cotton cord means you can hang them anywhere, and swapping prints is as easy as pulling the magnets apart. Perfect for A4 prints, photos, or artwork that you want to rotate regularly. These picture hangers were made by our volunteers at Boomerang Woodworking in Maryhill, Glasgow.

A substantial piece for your garden. This bench combines seating, planting space, and built-in storage all in one. Planters sit at either end, while the lift-up seat reveals storage underneath. Made from treated pine to resist rot and weather, it's built with attention to detail by our team. Solid, practical, and ready to become a fixture in your outdoor space. Add an optional trellis to the back if you want to grow climbing plants up and around the bench. This bench was made by our team at Boomerang Woodworking in Maryhill, Glasgow.
